Pre-Ride Check
Before each ride it is always essential to check a few things.

Tire Check
Make sure that your tire pressure it at your desired PSI. If you do not know what PSI is right for you, look up what it recommended for your tires.

Brake analysis
Make sure that both brakes are working properly. You can do this by squeezing both brakes. You will know if you brakes are good to go if there are able to stop fully and feel snug.

Chain check
your chain should be loose but not loose to the point where it is going to fall off. If the chain is too lose or too tight it could effect other components on the bike like the derailleur or the cassette.

Helmet Fit
Make sure that the helmet fits nice and snug. There should be very little movement when you shake your head. Last, make sure that the helmet is not too tight and that you can fit at most 2 fingers between your chin and chinstrap.
